Markdowner is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your data stays on your device.

Data Collection

Markdowner does not collect, store, or transmit any of your clipboard data. All HTML to Markdown conversion happens locally on your Mac.

What We Don't Collect

• Clipboard contents
• Converted Markdown text
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Personal information

License Validation

When you activate a license, Markdowner communicates with Gumroad's API to verify your license key. This is the only network request the app makes. The license key is stored locally on your device.

Local Storage

Markdowner stores the following data locally on your device:

• License key (if activated)
• Keyboard shortcut preference
• Daily usage count (for free tier limits)

Third-Party Services

Markdowner uses Gumroad for license management and payment processing. Please refer to Gumroad's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle your data.
